SRC Member Reefzzz Posted October 30, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 30, 2013 Welcome back, bro! Have you ever considered tearing down the tank and building a new one from scratch? It'll be a good chance to change some of the things that have been bugging you for a number of years. sadly, I don't have any other location in the house for a tank. house too small la.. Installing at compressor for the tank at current location is not feasible as well. Just have to make do with it. Looking good. Stocking up slowly bro.... Welcome back bro Looks like ultra zoas/paly going to form on the right island soon Waiting for u to share your collection bro. I had not done any scaping. I just dump the rocks into the tank. No scaping required as each rock is an individual piece.. This make isolation and damage control much easier.. AquaReefer
Very nice collection. I am thinking of getting a 4x1x1, but everybody said 1x1 too shallow and no 3D effect..etc. what's your experience with a short width and shallow tank? Any pros and cons to share? SRC Member Reefzzz Posted November 26, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted November 26, 2013 Nice zoas collection always. have to say U r really fast!! Those were my favourite before. So i already know what i want when i reset back.. haha.. Put each frag on a palm size rock, space them out and waiting for them to grow to cover it.. Nice zoas collection. Bro, i think you have much much more varieties than me.. keke Love your zoas!! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk Thanks bro Very nice collection. I am thinking of getting a 4x1x1, but everybody said 1x1 too shallow and no 3D effect..etc. what's your experience with a short width and shallow tank? Any pros and cons to share? bro, personally, I like the 1ft height as it make maintainence alot more easier as i am quite a lazy person. If you have the space, a 2ft width will actually be better as you can create a more 3D effect. The reason i only have a 1ft wide is purely due to space constrain as i want to flush the tank with the wall and hence the 1ft wide. Given a choice, i will opt for a min 2ft width. Since i have a 5x1x1, i just have to make do with it. The good thing about this setup is you never need to stack any rocks. Just buy 3 big pieces and put them in. Name them Fu, Lu & Shou. haha. Falling or collasping of rocks will not be your problem. I simply put in 3 seperate pc of LR. The reason i seperate them is because if the corals in any of the rocks is infested with anything, i just need to remove that particular piece la. No headache... Just my 2cts...
