Cloudy water during cycling

Hello reefers. I just cycle salt mix water for 10 days and start adding live rocks.I have added to bacteria tablet and 1 market prawn during the cycling process.Some worms appeared and then started dying and my water became cloudy and a bit smelly.Am i doing it right for cycling of the water. Need some experience advice from experience reefers.

You are on the right track. It'll smell bad... Let the prawn disintegrate. You should be done in 4 to 6 weeks.

Cycling only start with all the live rocks in. You are trying to grow the bacteria in the live rock. Worms (presumably from rocks) may die cause of salinity problem. My experience is they are super hardy against other types of stress. If the water is all cloudy and stinks, it means decay is in full swing. Some reefers do take out the prawn at this stage. Patience is the key. It's a long wait and you'll be eager to put in LS... Very normal.

Let it cycle for a about a month then do a 20%-50% wc, let it run for another few week and do some test of the water parameters

You'll have to cycle the tank for a few weeks before doing WC. In the meantime you actually dun have to do anything to your tank...

Wait cycle till 4wks Check ur water parameter If all ok Do 50% water change After fee days check again ur water Once all ok Can start to stock up slowly bro No hurry putting in livestock Cheers

Sory, i miscalculated. I have cycle it for 14 days
