kohanson
Hi all, I am still new in this hobby and have started my first pico tank Gex Glassterior 300 at 13l in May and I am currently running eheim liberty 200 running at max 760l/hr with a little eheim skim 350 power head rated at 300l/hr. I know the tank is small and I am running it with biohome, rowaphos and seachem de*nitrate in the liberty compartment. I am planning to do an upgrade to my current tank to custom make a 42cm x 42cm x 42cm due to space constraint and to have as large as a sump I can to place in the cabinet with a skimmer. Therefore, I went to seaview earlier today and saw this 2 pumps: Eheim universal 1250 and compact+ 2000. They 2 cost the same but the compact+ has a smaller footprint and pumps 750l/hr more water at max settings. I would like to hear your views which is better and the pros / cons of each pump. Thanks! SRC Member tunicate Posted October 25, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted October 25, 2013 Check with Aquarium Artist if he has any 1.5ft cube tank set for sale. Would be cheaper than custom making one.
Land2013
Going for ehiem is a right choice and both model equally OK except head loss is better using 1250 and it can use for both submerged or non.

I wish to have 1.5ft but it will be protruding out from my wall. I want it to flush with my wall so max I can go is 42cm. Maybe I will check with aqurium artist for solutions. Ok noted. I also will want to ensure reliability in the long run.
