fadlys
Hi reefer.. Is it energy efficient to put 2x resun 650 to cut down and less kick.. My tank is 4ft by 2 by 2 1/2 come with 3ft sump tank. Just wondering if I put one chiller it quite long to chill down and more kicking..whats your view? Planning to go for 1hp compressor, but a lot of renovation work..
dnsfpl
possible with external thermostat to ensure both will kick in and kick out together but performance wise will still lose out and not cost effective too i rather get a hailea 1/2 or arctica 1/
fadlys
Ic..how about chiller vs compressor? As I know compressor will kick in less then 1 deg..and chiller maybe will kick in 1 to 2 deg.. compressor will kick more frequenly then chiller as the water temp easily drop by 0.5 to 1 deg (unless it 24hr aircon room) While chiller will kick long to get to set tempreture. So what you guys think? Which is more energy efficient? Just wanna comparison Advantage and disadvantage. How much more $ different usinh this two? kraken
compressor is cheaper to run since it is more efficient. compressor doesnt kick in often, it depends on your temperature range that you set on the controller. by the way, a compressor cools water faster compared to chiller, provided the same hp. dnsfpl
there's a thread on compressor vs normal chiller, both have pro n con imo assuming temp at 27 degree, its better to use compressor if total volume more than 700l
