SRC Member brojj Posted November 18, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted November 18, 2013 Btw, forking out $800 for a lightset or equipment is not uncommon in this hobbies, especially if we re talking about 'reliable, trusted, branded, proven' ones.
SRC Member Evolutionz Posted December 4, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 4, 2013 Don't understand why they still stuck on to cool whites (which are almost unless. Mainly for our eyes pleasures) warm whites and neutral whites should be used instead. Reef breeders led (AKA evergrow) from USA (China) are having the best spectrum now. With use of neutral and warm white as well as red, green, cyan, Blue, royal blue, true and hyper violets. One of the few cheap led fixtures with really good spectrum. SRC Member brojj Posted December 4, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 4, 2013 Bro, like what u said, cool white is only adjusted for our viewing pleasure. When there is demand, there will be supply. FYI, orphek altantik V2 cool white LED concentrate on giving out light spectrum from 400 - 460nm, so, their cool whites (apart from other colors, blues, hyperviolet, red) is actually important for PUR as well as for viewing pleasure. At least what they are doing now gives me the feeling that somebody is finally heading towards the right direction & not juz making a 'shotgun' LED that 'shot out' every single spectrum, which are mostly useless for corals & waste of our $$$. SRC Member Evolutionz Posted December 4, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 4, 2013 Indeed. The altanik v2 is a very interesting and new led. I guess they'll work since its from orphek. Would rather put my money on this. Quote EvolutionZ's Floating Reef: (Decommed) EvolutionZ's 4ft shallow Mixed Reef Build :
SRC Member brojj Posted December 4, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 4, 2013 What's more, the controller used to control the different intensity of different channels is wireless, a tablet using wifi running on andriod. Now, that is cool.
SRC Member brojj Posted December 4, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 4, 2013 I still remember when using razor, i had to climb up & down to program the 2 channels. Tired. SRC Member Evolutionz Posted December 4, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 4, 2013 Ok la, mine not hanged so tall. Honestly the only led I will consider changing to is the reef breeders photon 32.the altanik is nice but one is not enough for my tank. I'm happy with my razors though! SRC Member brojj Posted December 5, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted December 5, 2013 Photon 32. I remember that time u re asking for anyone interested so can import in together & changed to more blueish at no extra cost for orders of a few units? Am i correct? They re using bridgelux not cree LEDs. Looks big & bulkly but performance wise will not lost to razor. Can swap & change out the LEDs too, based on what i have read. 200Watt monster. More than enough coverage for 3ft. 90cm length.

Hi bro don't ask me about tat my tank consider ultra high nutrient with poor water quality because of my lazy style of reefing without any carbon dosing & wc only done when found rtn or stn or salinity drop even skimmer cup never clean for months ... so my water parameter really paiseh to tell ... a latest pic taken few days ago the tenuis grow a lot ... pic just taken with my samsung S3 ... http://s1201.photobucket.com/user/Sengreef/media/20140419_183742_zps8cf5793c.jpg.html'>

Sengreef
my nutrient is very high site PO4 at 0.1~0.2 range highest can reach 0.77 & NO3 at 10~20 range highest can reach 80 suddenly due to heavy feeding many fishes but if I force PO4 drop below 0.1 or NO4 drop below 10 my magnifica anemone will melt away tats y maintain at tat level with only rowaphos & sulphur without others carbon dosing ... those thick type sps like humilis, gemifera, abro, samoensis etc will not survive in my tank they turn brown stop growing than suddenly rtn in few weeks ... Jarrod Ward
Beautiful stuff guys. Let me ask a simple question. As I eventually need to return to the US where power is 120 60hz, are the high-end LED lights that you are buying dual voltage (eg, usable here and in the US)? Really want to avoid paying out now and then having to sell in Pasar Salam... haha.... Thanks. Thanks. i see that you have an RSM130d. not much post on this rsm. anyway most led lights will come with a seperate power unit or their switching power supplies. just need to make sure you get those running on dual voltages. most likely you will need to replace the plug if the voltage is workable. this is what indicated on my razor power supply: Input 90-132VAC/180-264VAC
