SRC Member Boonboy Posted September 13, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted September 13, 2013 Curious to know which LED lightset is most trusted by SPS reefers... Quote http://boonboyreef.blogspot.sg
SRC Member Evolutionz Posted September 13, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted September 13, 2013 should allow multiple choice! and more options too.. Right now IMO the best to the least best fixture for SPS if $$ not an issue : GHL Mitras Maxspect Razor Kessil Pacific Sun Orphek Evergrow/ReefBreeders Aqua illumination (only the Hydra and Hydra 52) Radion (only the Pro) All the above can grow SPS or color up them well but you have to factor in other issue to determine the best. If $$ is an issue, the best bang for the buck LEDs will be : Maxspect Razor Evergrow/Reefbreeders The Kessil or the new Maxspect Celestial uses single source multi-chip leds instead of the cluster led we usually see. I believe this should be a game changer espcially the maxspect celestial is cheaper then the kessil and yet programmable. sunnymau
Beautiful colors using orphek. But expensive lightset. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2 I would say yes and no. Yes if you are comparing 1unit to 1unit of other brand, it does cost more. However, if you consider the coverage it provide then it is not that expensive at all. For other lightset you might need atleast 2 units or even 3 units to provide the same coverage as single Atlantik, when you add up the cost, it will be similar in price or more ex than orphek. And asthetically (fro rimless) , less lightset hanging give you better looking setup and less messy with less wire running.. Cheers
