Hi Brucegan,

If the algae are slimly , for short term solution, go for the ultralife red slime remover, really effective and totally reef safe,

for long term, check your water parameters to see what trigger the outbreak of the algae and remove them. reducing light cycle might help.

IMHO, i don't think the red slime remover is totally reef safe.. maybe to a certain extent... my octo branch and hammer branch refused to open for a few days when i added the red slime remover.. when i performed water changes then only did they recover after awhile.. ;)

The world is such a wicked place, war btween the human race. People work to earn their bread, while across the sea they're counting dead

faced the same problems recently and it was unsightly... :( but did a major water change last weekend and reduced lighting period and the red slime has been reduced to the minimal now. Still present are some red bloches but planning to do more water changes gradually. In reality our reeftank is an enclosed system in which nutrients are hardly ever recycled at all and waste rapidly builds up. With a thicker sand bed problems are bound to arise without proper water circulation.
