:o crabs are all opprtunistic feeders and if possible, will grow big and become problems, just my thoughts but i suppose so will the octopus....if you are not keeping ornamental shrimps, try a hawkfish. They are relatively reef safe, natural predators of small crustaceans and once done with the crabs, don't really grow big and should be easier to remove since they have no swim bladders and sink to the bottom all the time.

Just my two cents worth. :P

I've this thought of getting a hawk.....Shrimp can be removed, but all my snails inside will be difficult to remove....so, now I've a permament trap inside....hopefully can remove all the crab eventually. :erm:

I know..... AHHH.... I have lotsa them in my tank... tried using the brands bottle trick, cannot work leh.. next day only see many pods in there eating, no crabs... how??

I used the brands bottle trap as recommended in another thread. Works like magic leh... I caught 8 crabs from my new LR in just one night. Maybe these newbie crabs not so smart yet. It was advised that the trap should be placed near the crabs' hangout, at a non-threatening angle as well.

The difficult part was having to throw them into the toilet bowl and watch them die by ammonia poisoning..
