I saw this UK website selling RC powerboat.

This is the price list of the 50mm propeller at 4.99 pound sterling.

http://www.ripmax.com/PriceList/E0725.html

Since Tanzy is there, do you think you could bring some back?

Another site: http://www.funrcboats.com/prop_chart1.htm

Upgraded PLASTIC Prop, (low cost, 1440) factory polished (40mm x 1.4 = 2.198"): $2.99 each

guys, I believe that is alot of RC shop in Singapore that sell the boat propeller, so why you need to go to great distance to get it? There is a building(I think it is the very old Safe superstore) opposite the Red Star resturant that house a few RC shops, just pop in there and ask, they should have the boat propeller for you.

so, correct me if i'm worng.

A cheapo version of the reeftec would be:

1. an internal spare powerhead(flowrate to be discussed later)

2. a long shaft to fit the powerhead(e.g break a overhead filter pump for the shaft & cut to size) & extend out to fit on a propeller

3. the propeller to push & twirl the water.

4. some acrylic to make box/casing. some egg crate to cover too. Some pvc pipe to make the circle bit where the prop goes.

5. Timer- on/off 4 hrs interval(a $10 powerhead is expendable)

i'm no good at drawings, but you've seen the reeftec so u got the idea.

& a little searching ard i found it works: Follow this thread:

DIY reeftec

so anybody any idea how much is a prop?

Fu Lu Shou complex ???

which level?or shop name... maybe tml i can go there see see ... my sch inthat area.

by the way centre point got a shop selling planes propeller, but dunno suitable or nt ..

Plane propeller? Either way we could put the propeller to face the front or the back. It depends on how we mount it.

It should be at least 50mm propeller. I'm not sure whether 50 mm is the diameter or the radius. I think it is radius. Maybe AT can tell us.

I suggest patience!

With a commercial unit like the Tunze Turbelle Stream following on the success of the Reeftec unit (which is a DIY concept)... I am sure that in the next couple of months, the Taiwanese will be coming out cheaper clones!

Unless you have a direct drive pump to measure the impeller shaft diameter, and source around for a drive dog to fit the prop onto it and fit over the shaft... it will be very much hit and miss. Especially, if you use RC air plane props, try RC boat props... these are designed to move water, not air.
