brown algae growth on sps

Hey Guys,

Patches of brown algae started to grow on my monti. After a while, it spreads to the other sps around it. slowly, the sps on the right of the tank kena.. and now it is spreading to the left side of the tank.. what do you guys think is the cause of it?

yea.. Brightwell kalk 2+.. Been wondering if its the problem.. dosing with diy water bottles..

Sorry, I never use kalk before so can't advise u on this, maybe other bros can advise. Not sure if overdosing kalk could lead to this.

Thanks! Although I am really worried e algae might cover e montis n eventually kill them..

yup agree, once algae bloom the SPS soon will turn brown or die

brush off the algae with a toothbrush (temporary solution) and check your nutrient levels and lighting period (solving the root of the problem of algae)
