Mini acro crab

Dear All,

Was doing a water change when i noticed 2 lil pincers in my sunset millie.

It is sooooo tiny and adorable!

Anyone know where it came from?

either from your other sps colonies or its been there all the while. Those non-hairy type are good and they ensure the acro colony is clean since its their home.

my acro crab moved fr my sunset mille to my fat bird's nest. Is this normal behaviour?

I don't really know about SPS cause I tried and it died...I gave up.

But I THINK that that is not normal,i think people call it a symbiotic relationship...so why leave that coral for another?Oh,is it hairy or hairless?

pretty normal, your bird nest probably is bigger and bushier and it thinks its a safer home.

It might be a Tetralia sp. These crabs lives in acroporid corals in a symbiotic relationship. They are thought to be host specific, discriminating between species of Acropora. They are largely harmless to the corals themselves and may even keep the corals healthy.

I ever encounter a brown hairy one, with red eyes. That is harmful as i saw it tears off my SPS flesh & the SPS dies after a few weeks. It then shift to another colony. Needless to say, i have got rid of it already.

But since yours is hairless, white, that crab is harmless.

it disappeared after moving to bird's nest. didnt find its body.
