To capture the magical view of marine tank and corals, what:

1. camera?

2. lens?

3. flash?

4. settings?

5. tank setup (e.g. flow off, strong light, etc..)

6. etc...

I think this is informative so we can share our corals in amazingly better view. personally I had tried some but unable to capture like the luminous color of corals.. its amazingly beautiful when viewed by eyes esp at blue light but unable to share photos to my friends...

Any camera also can. Depend on what you want to take.

Used both compact n dslr, Compact bout 3 yrs back n dslr eversince, dslr is easier to tak control, For dslr #1. Camera body= any camera body with ISO 1600 is good to go(corals or fish) #2. Lens= any lens are ok, but if u wan close up to corals(180mm macro) or $10macro filter to add on to ur current lens #3. Flash= no flash pls, unless u use master n slave flash off camera #4 setting= at least iso 1600(if u're not familiar with tank lighting), Shutter speed at least 200-300 for fish(F-stop as low as possible) Shutter speed bout 50-100 for corals(F-stop 8-10 for macro) W/B for blue light can custom color temp to 10K, but pls stay at AUTO for white light Wait for metering Most impt point is to know wat type of lighting u using, shooting fishes gotta keep on relying on ur metering as it changes a lot ,
