anyone got such issue with your Radion light?

Came home last night and found radion no lights. checked fan and not spinning. Manually rotate fan blades, ok not stuck. During my warranty period, the fan broke down once and it's symptoms where the fan blades got stuck.

Off the power to radion.

This morning turn on power. Saw smoke coming out from the fan area. Quickly turned power off.

Anyone encounters this before? Another fan issue? Too busy with my work for the last few months.

Maybe you can also try contacting madpetz, they are the authorize workshop for radion and could advice u better.

yap. The white stringy smoke oozing out from the fan. The question I ask is if fan is faulty but temp sensor is low, light should turn on. I try tonight to turn on my lights. If light comes on n fan not work. Then it is the fan. But based on last night when I came back, I saw no light n fan not working. Touched light unit not hot. Wth, the light I bought in apr 11. Within 1 yr, fan broke down. Now got problem again. Looks like my sps gone liao.

It is quite common to see another fan breakdown again on radion lightset. Their fans have a lot of problems. Hopefully they do something fast. The internet is 'swelling' with this issue, all over the world. But no doubt their lights is one of the best.

wow.. they are premium lighting and they break down so easily? i heard ecotech service in the US is really fast and good but here is slow as hell though.

but seems like a yearly event for me. Fan broke down in 2012 during warranty. After replacement, broke down in 2013. Ecotechmarine uses which brand fan. Failure rate so high...

warranty over on last yr. Had brought my unit to madpetz n left it there for repair. Didn't ask for cost of repair. Will let u know cost.

hi bro, its been a while. The fan replacement is 80sgd. The support for radion is truly ... no local spares for fan hope tat the distributor do more. 3wks no main light, clams gone, sps gone. Just so damn frustrating when it cost more to get expensive equipments but distributor never provide support to local lfs. Im taking timeout from reefing. Stupid green bubble algae n flatworm out of no where too. All shit happens at the same time.

Yes, they MUST do so. Imagine your SPS gone juz like that. Either i will avoid products that do not have good support or i will keep a spare. These people should know that reefing is a serious hobbies & must produce & sell reliable equipment & must provide fast, good after sales support, in order to keep their business afloat. They should know that better.

thats really very bad service. i agree, avoid radion if you pay so much and yet take so long for unit to be fixed.

my personal habit when going for premium equipment is to first look at their agents, so far my experience with reef depot is excellent.. although they are not doing retail now, but good thing we are still able to get their products through other retailers.

I remember few years ago there was an event my skimmer pump wasn't working fine and i was very please with their support.

They immediately gave me a brand new replacement on the spot although my tank will be fine skimmerless for a few days.

Get the fan from SLT and replace it yourself. Price should not more than 20.... !
