Jameshong
Well i have a crazy idea out of my mind this afternoon while helping my engineer solving some problematic electronics equipment in the office. The crazy idea is to mod my defective Arctica nano 1/15hp chiller into 300/400w nano Thermoelectric Cooler Peltier chiller since the ABS housing and water tank is still in good condition..furthermore all TEC parts can be easily purchased from taobao and prices are pretty reasonable so thought of giving the poor chiller a new life....lol!!! No physical action but just a thought only. What do you guy think? Quote Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Keith khoo
why would you want to convert if the defective parts can be replace? Converting will cost more than replacement .

SRC Member JeffL Posted August 15, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted August 15, 2013 Piangz, you are really the king of DIY! True, the parts from Artica is very expensive but which parts are faulty in your 1/15? The parts I have changed out was the fan and controller which i 'think' can be DIY too by repairing ourselves or source for our own pars. Maybe will save u more trouble? I also think the TEM will be more power hungry and may be less efficient. but then again, your idea is really good! would be camping here Quote 2 Feet Tank: (Decom Feb 2015)-Lightings : Pharos LED light 90W with wireless controller-Chiller : Arctica 1/10HP with H2Ocean Flow Pump 2000-Wavemaker : Vortech MP10ES -Skimmer : Bubble Magus NAC 3.5-Return Pump : Eheim Compact 3000-Reactor – TLF150 (Mod) with NP Biopellet-Reactor – TLF150 with Rowaphos
