Sump for my 3ft tank.

Recommended Posts

do you have a cabinet for your tank? if you have, then sump length should be shorter and narrower then display tank.

If you don't have a cabinet, then size is not a problem.

I will go for almost the same volume of your display tank.

Lesser volume of water also means harder to control water parameter.

Size also depend on what equipments you want to house.

Careful selection of skimmer, return pump and type of media and other add on like the biopellet etc.

calculation such as size of the equipment that need to fit into the sump tank.

what are you housing in your display tank? then work out what you want to achieve.

Decide on the type of equipments and then your ideal size of the sump will finalize.
