dunkuboyz
Anyone knows if Coral Rx kills crabs and shimps? I dipped all my corals in CoralRx for a good 10 mins. None of the crabs die.... the nice commensal shrimps survive too. Had to hand check each and every coral and remove those pest hairy crabs!! Luckily, while I was feeding my corals with Oyster eggs, saw this little hairy crab standing proud at the tip of one of my corals...removed that coral, removed him, and to my surprised, found another....goodness!! checked through all of them again...hopefully I'm rid of this hairy crab! dunkuboyz
Some Updates... About a month ago, had some repairs done to my house which needed the power to be turned off.... To my horror, my 22nd storey condo flooded within minutes!! My check valve failed!! Lost a good 10-15% water to my floor...that will be a good 180Liters of water!!.... No lost of livestock....but there goes my timber floor!!! I couldn't have that happening as I travel quite abit.... it was mind boggling..... What if it happened when I was away?!?! One of my return was a good 6 inches below the overflow! I kept turning the pumps on and off for the next 2-3 weeks.... n' boy, did the check valve fail in front of my eyes!! not once, not twice....but 5X in 3 weeks.... Dismantled the valve and check...no problems whatsoever. The funny thing is, only the check valve catered by the 10,000 L/hr pump was failing. When I checked the ball in the check valve, there were linear scratched marks which corresponds to the trap on the upper valve. My best guess is that the pressure created by the pump is too great resulting the ball to get 'stuck', preventing the ball to drop down during a backflow. Finally, revamp the pipes for a fail-safe mechanism.... I guess I did concentrate during Physics class. As seen in the second picture, in the event of another failure of the check valve, air would be sucked in from the white flexi pipe, preventing the flow of water through the 'U' bent which is placed above the water level. Will do the same modification to the other return soon.
