Lightings for 2 feet. T5 or Clip on MH?

I have a 2 feet which I'm considering to change lightings. Still considering for T5 or MH. ;)

Thing is T5 lightings have coloured tubes. With a dual tube fitting, I can have 2 tubes of diferent colours.

Now there's a new clip-on MH with quite reasonable price. Only thing is I will have to still use my existing PL lights if I need the blue lights.

Things that factor my considerations are:

- my tank's height is 39cm. Will T5 be enough to reach the bottom if I'm gonna put a coral there?

- What's the heat like even with the new clip-on MH? Same as normal MH? Then how's it gonna affect the temp for a tank without a chiller?

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

Use the clip on. It's running on 150W MH bulb. It does not give out as much heat as 250W bulbs.

Might even give out less heat compared to all your T5 tubes together. Somemore MH concentrates the heat on one area of your tank. T5s spread the heat out over a larger area. Just use a clip on fan blowing at the area directly under the MH 24/7 and your temperature will be perfect. MH gives out the 'sparkling' effect too.

T5s can reach 39cm..it's only slightly more than 1 ft in depth.

It's your choice really. ;)

overall cost price? .. In fact, I believe the price would be the same if I get a clip-on MH and a dimmable T5 for 2 feet. If thats what you mean.. ;)

Hmm..run separate ballasts that use PLs? Might be rather untidy though..

Is kinda headache in choosing of light. Once you had decide the type of lighting you want, will then headache for what kind of bulbs to use. (i.e aquablue sp, 150w 10k/20k ,etc.)

Which happened to me now. 6500k or 20000k MH?
