Newbie New Nano tank set up

Hi everyone!

I am back new to reef aquarium. I started a 4ft reef aquarium given to me by my cousin 10 years ago. Due to my inexperience, ignorance and failure to read up, it failed.

I am back now and just started a 2ft tank. Hopefully I can do it successfully this time. I am still learning and hope to learn more from you guys.

It is filled with nsw and there is no sand. But it is foaming up the sock.

Simple sump, no skimmer yet? Care to share who is your tank maker? Thanks in advance.

Tank size is 24 x 20 x 20in.

Don't need skimmer, I am making my own foam already...

My tank maker is Ah Soon. He done my 4ft aro tank 4 years ago and it is still going strong.

Maybe the foaming is due to the die-off from the LR.

Then what's ur method of nutrients export? Unless u r diligently doing water change week in week out.

I will get a skimmer when my tank stablelise. Will keep fish first and slowly some easy-to-care corals. Target WC twice a month.

I planning to DIY my own LED light set. Will post a thread in DIY section. I am a noob at this though.
