Issues with cheatos

Hi.. Currently running some cheato.. But the seems like little pieces breaking off every now any then with causing my pump to get stuck with shorts strands of cheato.. Any suggestion or the cheato dying.. Running on 1 ft aquazonic hot5 1 tube with original supersun 12k bulb

how long do you have the lights on per day? (Minimum 12 hrs to have healthy chaeto)

how is the water flow in the place where you house your chaeto? (there must be water flow, best if the chaeto is tumbling round and round)

I have experience using those aquazonic t5 bulb are not efficient to rrun for chaeto. Get those 6500k range...or add a little iron to boost the chaeto.

Yes my is merry go round.. Non stop..

These t5s don't have 6500k bulbs.. But I ask lfs they say these lights enough for plants then shod be enough for algae ma

I suggest 2700k (natural sun ) T5 or 660nm LED.. Natural Plant/Algae growth wave length or spectrum. Beside lights, sufficient flow also play an important rules for chaeto to growth. Cheers..

Using par38 for my chaeto. They growing fast.. I turn on my light for about 10hrs.

2.7k t5 is not avail in shorter size.. When I go chk at c328... Now I am trying to use 2 tubes supersun. If it still don't work then perhaps led or par38

I used par38. Initially I also got issue in small strands of chaetoe went over the glass and get stuck in the pump. What you can do is to use a container to prevent it from going over. But you need to poke a lot of hole on the container to make sure water flow through it.
