But maybe you can share some method to prevent scratch, esp when those 'spot algae' grow on the tank wall....currently I'm using plastic card and cutter blade to scrap off...which damaged my glass already....

Good question. I've been reading up alot from Reef Central and those websites who uses Acrylic tanks. They either use a special cleaner or the credit card. I've been cleaning thick hard coraline algae in my refugium with the credit card and no scratches at all. I don't mind even is any of you want to come to my place to watch me clean the algae off

No Magnet cleaner or razor blade allowed! even if it states used for acrylic i don't recomend it.

If there are scratches, you can always remove it . unlike glass.

I like abt acrylic is that there will not have silicon joint, which is another problem I have with algae!

yup...difficult to remove algae from silicon, bec scare REMOVE the silicon together..then really deep shit!

For acrylic...will be using 'glue' or something like that for the joint, right? same as those acrylic sump I saw...

Ian, if u plan to continue with your 6' tank proj then you may want to watch closely on the recent thread on oceanmotions in RC. Seem like a very good product to watch for. It is definitely not going to take up all the space or unsightly. Btw, I am currently trying to see if i can get one of these toy over to test it out! Problem so far seem to be to get the 230V motor (Crouzet motor, number 82305.5 with 1RPM).

Alvy/Robe, any idea whether we can get this motor in Sgp?
