I would put the skimmer in the second compartment where ur biohomme would be. That space also can put ur FRs. Filter media, biohomme, coral chips in the first along with a filter pad or sock.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes

Too many people spend money they haven't earned to buy things they don't want to impress people they don't like.

Are coral chips, Biohomme, etc still popular nowadays?

I thought most bros have replaced them with FR as those medias tend to accumulate detritus over time & end up becoming a nitrate factory.

I don't see any problem having both sock & skimmer in the 1st compartment if its water level is consistent, except that I'll probably have the water flow under the 1st baffle instead of over to eliminate any micro-bubbles.

Perhap you can consider sacrify a couple of inches at last compartment to make 2nd compartment bigger for additional applications.

yea it would be better if there was more space in the skimmer compartment- but overall it seems good

cheers

Is it a nano tank?

If I will you, I will re-do the partition.

Here it go,

1st chamber - 5" - underflow baffle - 1" space then another overflow baffle

2nd chamber - 7" - overflow baffle - 1" space then another underflow baffle - 1" space then another overflow baffle

3rd chamber - 6"
