BOX FISH

There is a spotted box fish at Re**** when I went there yesterday. Looks very fascinating. Any one has any experience with this fish? I heard they secrete poison. Really?

they dun really secrete toxic unless they are very very stressed.. Best is they are not shy... usually they allow people to touch them...

Only thing about them is that they are very prone to white spots..

never kept blue tang so can't compare. .. but they are really ich magnet..

If you happen to have cleaner wrasse in your tank, do not keep boxfish together with it as their skin cannot tolerate the contant picking (cleaning) of these wrasses.

I hope you're keeping one in a FOWLR tank coz they are not reef-safe.

not only that. I believe they are those kinds of fishes that cannot tolerate certain ich medications. Avoid Octozin...
