if u meant for a tank that is 2ft tall, you'll have to hang it high to cover the whole area. or you can choose to hang it lower, then both sides will be pretty dark or have shadowing. Can go down to west coast aquarium to check out their display tank.

No harm to have a look.. will do so. West coast aquarium is the 1 near ntuc? inside market?

60 degree is very narrow and should use 3 sets. 80 degree is wider so 2 sets might suffice. But might have shadowing especially if u have a middle bracing.

For LED, price aside, do look out for support. Buying overseas is cheap but that is provided you have means to get support. Otherwise, it may be penny wise pound foolish. Prioritise your buying consideration to narrow down your choice, otherwise you will be flooded with Suggestion. For 4 ft, razor 160w and mitra are supposed to be able to support 3ft. The rest, mostly support 2ft. So it seems like you need 2 sets for all brands(available in sg market) unless you going for supplement. LED has high start up cost but save on long run. If you are going into sps and serious about it, then your choice may be limited to few proven brands which can keep it survive and color up your spses. The other options of MH & T5 are still available but cost on the running and consumables like bulb are high.

Pharos LED -

4 x Cree XPE Blue: 3W/piece
- 12 x Cree XPE Royal Blue: 3W/piece
- 2 x Cree XPG warm white: 5W/piece
- 6 x Cree XPG neutral white: 5W/piece

Though with the use of warm white and neutral white is a good choice, no Violets at all would be a major down side. violets (true or hyper violet) are very important to corals. and they bring the POP color out in luminous corals.

And i agree with solo77, buying from overseas is cheaper but have to consider about warranty issue. If you happen to buy and use after 1-2 months and module died or controller spoilt, there is nothing you can do buy to buy another set.

they do provide violet led , but with an additional cost of 10$ for each violet

they provide 1 year warranty , and was told they will cover the shipping cost if we were to send back china for warranty.

the module and controller is seperate sale. and this are cheap especially the controller X:

in terms of price when buying here in sg , pharos is much more expensive than razor 160w :chair:

so either the orignal leds will have to be swapped out? If they honor what they told you. Then i guess it will be a good buy. Care to pm me the price too? Thanks

yah , original leds will have to be swapped out. example orignally comes with 4 blue. can swap with 4 violet.

bro clee also did the same , swapped some colours of the led to the colour he wants.

Out of curiosity, why not T5s? Maybe a ati sunpower? Think many seniors here are using them and probably a very proven light set for all sorts of corals, esp SPS

Certain luminous color of the sps probably need the spectrum that T5s can provide.. Nonetheless, agreed about the cost, just bought a razor myself too. Haha

Just got the razor only. Gonna tryout supplementing it with e old Aquazonic T5s, keeping just e blue actinic bulbs, which I intend to switch to ati bulbs soon..will monitor the photoperiod n hopefully it wan be a overkill n I won't run into algae n bleaching problems.. Will post updates in my thread in u wanna find out about e effects :)

ur tank 2ft depth dont use aquazonic fixture. Use ATI fixture if you want to go T5.
