Other than the origin, the blue patch on the fish is a difference which is obvious in the shepardi from guam but not all exhibit the blue patch.. But buying one with the blue patch will at least guarantee that it is different from the hybrid from Philippines as the hybrid do not have the blue patch.

Other than a DNA test, there is no way to tell whether it is a true/false shepardi...
