Live Rock formula... Really ?!

I read on the internet that the live rock ratio in a marine tank should work out to be 1lb - 1.5lb per gallon.

After putting in 32kg of live rocks in my 3.5ft x 1.5ft x 2ft tank and sump, I realised that it is difficult now to have any nice big angel fish (or any big fish) in the tank liao... only space for small little-lings, critters and corals... but the water seems to be pretty stable though...

Can anybody share some of your live rocks experience ?

Live rock can be reduce with the help of biohome or bio-material in the sump tank, they function the same as the liverock. I am the strong believer of minimal rock scape, it allow better water flow and better nutrient export through the help of skimmer.

Best to avoid deep sand bed. The cons is more then the short period of pros that it provide.

Google "DSB hydrogen sulphide".

The method with massive amount of Live Rock and DSB has lost favour with most reefers (not all).

Materialism :- He who dies with the most toys, wins.
