in order to obtain a perfect result.. is it true/?

Model: CR2- Dual Chamber Calcium Reactor

Media: A.R.M

CR Circulation pump: Ehiem 1250

My tank: about 90 gal (3 footer with sump)

IMO, its better to go for dual chamber... my ph remain stable after using my CR2. Dual chamber ensures CO2 is used b4 going back to the main tank which will depress the ph. Single chamber may need Kalk Reactor or connecting the effluent from the Ca reactor to the skimmer to keep ph stable.

and how much would this thing cost?? .. ;)

Why do we use "My 2 cents worth" when 1 cents are not legal tender in Singapore anymore? Shouldn't it be 5 cents worth?

You are right to a certain extend. THe European believe in CO2 reuse thru design. The excess CO2 reuse design into newgeneration of reactor is of better performance & produce higher DKH + higher PH effluent. You can get your MRC can compare to a Deltec. I can bet my fortune on Deltec anyday.

Andysho... you seriously want to venture in SPS keeping? Do you think you are ready? How long have you kept your tank?

yep i am ready~~

i have keep marine far far years back~~when there

are only two marine shops in singapore~

of course that time no advance equipment and not much

of reefers

so now waiting for my new tank~~~to come

dun worry Mr AT~~~ i dun venture into something

without digging information~~~ and spent $$ for nothing

of course we still need to learnt from each other

no matter how much experience we have~~

agree with Max. i think Deltec veri ex compared to MRC.

for MRC prices, its publish on their website. write to Andy if u have question on $$ and customization. he replied within 1-2 days. very helpful guy.

Those that brought a MRC, get yourself a good pump & you see performance increase by alot. There's a recent trend in US to mate MRC with small Iwaki pumps. You will see performance increase by 15~20% EASILY!

That's the right way! ;)

We have quite a number of newbies who want an SPS tank right away. It's madness. I fear many corals will die before they get all the knowledge, equipment and husbandry skills necessary for hard-to-keep SPS.

my impression is that ehiem pump is good enough coz the pump rate for Ca Rreactor cannot be too powerful to allow the media to dissolve. maybe Max can enlighten me... if 20% increase in perf, its worth. btw which iwaki pump is suitable ?

Get yourself a good pump. If you find Iwaki too ex. get a higher flow eheim, rather than 1250, get something with bigger flow. Add a Precision Gate Value between the intake to pump. Adjust intake to 30%~50% and start the unit. Once your CO2 been adjusted and stable after a few hrs or days? Depends on CR design & sixe + CO2 count + effluent drip rate - you need some solid expereince to get it first time right. newbie will take some try & error and serious time noting and adjusting. After setup is stable, chk dkh of effluent and adjust up CO2 + open up the gate valve accordingly. The gate valve act like a super charger. But betware, I think only CR with dual chamber & CO2 reuse/recirculation chamber can use such a "TURBO" type setup. -> this is something you don't get in RC -SECRET ;)

That's also the edge about Deltec against the rest of the great or Junk European CR.
