SRC Member HW33 Posted July 3, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted July 3, 2013 Brought a WP 25,found that the power supply is stated 12v 1500mah. Is this normal? I though DC controllable pump could run up till 24v? The pump I tried running on H and S1 assuming it has the most flow and electric consumption, was playing with my wattmeter and found it draw abit lesser then I expect. Or did I miss out sometin ? megacue
Hi, have bought the wp25 that use the 1.5a and 24v adapter. The adapter blown and tripped my circuit breaker. Had to reset ELCB, and the wp25 no working. Went back to get a replacement set, and second time, similar thing happen. Only on the third replacement and try out at the lfs, then all things seem fine and been working good in my tank. At first, I thought it my socket giving me problem, but I have used that same socket for laptop and other equipment like LED that drew more power without problem. I no electrician, but I think the adapter need some serious QC to be done. Does the warranty cover the adapter as well?
SRC Member clkong Posted July 27, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted July 27, 2013 Bought wp25 to replace my long faulty mp10. IMO too powerful for 1.5ft cube, but still mange to find a mode that is suitable for my tank. I am currently using W1 with S3 or S2 mode. My review: - once it is locked, you can still switch the modes and speed, it only lock down the adjustable duration setting. Don't quite make sense IMO, it should have locked everything except the feed mode. I have to keep the controller inside the cabinet just in case my sons go and press and play with it. - during feed mode, the pump stops for 10 mins. It will be nice if it just reduce the speed by 50% instead of stopping it. - very quite if compare with mp10 to get the same type of wave - powerful which limit the setting and the position of pump, doesnt really bother me much, once it is set I don't change it often - value for money, with that kind of price can't really complain much. - mp10 is good to have, but I m happy enough with just wp25

nuj244
if you find it very powerful, you can reduce the supply voltage to 12V (minimum). If you have adaptor for external harddisk, that will perfectly fit. Just confirm the polarity is the same. However, do it at your own risk although i heve been using it for some time now and using else mode.
