Hi guys,

Decided to start a new thread to document my new tank in progress.

After 13 years in the hobby, finally having my own home and going to start everything anew with a partition tank. Over the years, I have been dosing and doing everything manually due to tight budget as a student, do hope to automate as much now and just enjoy the hobby with my wife.

General specs in planning stages:

Tank: 3 x 2 x 2 ft with 3 side crystal glass partition tank with external overflow, sump, kapo wood stand and full height white glossy cabinet

Return pump: 4000l/hr Hailea 8840

Wave maker: Vortech MP40

Dosing: Bubble Magus 3 channel BM T-01 dosing pump (planning to just dose C Balance with occasional balling if required.

Fluidised Reactor: got a second hand customised one for phosban or row aphis next time

Chiller: Using compressor unit with titanium coil. I'm quite particular about trunking and my aircon ledge is quite some distance to my fish tank location, but luckily my interior designer managed to conceal all of them including my system 4 aircon trunking

Lighting: ATI T5 8 x 39w. First time using T5 and hope it doesn't disappoint.

Skimmer: undecided. Still contemplating on a Skimz Monster SM 161 or Deltec SC 1455 or Bubble Magus Curve 9. Any recommendations? I'm quite inclined to bubble magus due to its reviews and relatively cheaper price. Seems more hassle free too

Livestock: Planned to have a mixed reef, with heavy bias for sps. Will need the Los or the softer flowing look though

Set up plan:

Probably gonna use sea water to fill my tank in initial stages an use some of the sand in my current 12g to seed the tank. Might try prodibio too and let it cycle for about a month.

Kick start with some current home reno picspost-600-13695620577769_thumb.jpg

Sorry guys. Don't really know why my fonts ended up that way in earlier post. Trying that again.

New house, new tank. You shld be excited. Return pump get a a reliable one. Sent from my Android using Tapatalk2

Hi bro,

Yea, was contemplating brands like Newjet, Sicce and Eden but decided that I could easily buy 3 Hailea with just 1 of those more reputable ones which cost at least $200 and above. Power consumption is pretty important for me also. Newjet's power seems the lowest for the 4500 series at 50w but I saw that head lost at a height of 2m almost same as Hailea.

Choosing of the pumps had been most headache too besides the skimmers. Haha.

Eheim was out for me coz though reliable, I think it's quite expensive and also high power consumption. The Hailea pump is 70w.

Hope I make the right decision on this.

Bro, just my 2 cent I would recommand you to use 10500/l 85watt diablo dc (controller) pump save electrical also. Around $250 below. ATI lightset will not fail you if you has spare cash buy power moduel if not sun moduel will do different is on less then 5%. Deltec 1455 will be much better choice as deltec brand more reliable.

Vortech MP40. My hands have been itching to try all these things for so many years, given my 12g JBJ nano currently has only lights, coupled with weekly water changes post-600-13696242890673_thumb.jpg

The route of my compressor unit trunking indicated by the arrows. Understand its quite a long route and not sure how cooling performance might be compromised. My plans are to maintain temperature at 26.5 degree. Cross fingers!post-600-13696245696168_thumb.jpg

deltec never fail you :D

I am very tempted bro at a chance to own a deltec. Haha. And the SC1455 is quite an affordable range compared to other models. Crossroads! Anyone with bubble magus curve series that can comment on performance?
