Skimming a nano tank

I am just thinking the IOS compartment of OF 34L tank is so small, if I use an air pump connect to a tube and wooden bubble block put it in the intake chamber, then put filter media at water surface level to catch the skimmed stuff will it work? I know it's not as effective as a skimmer gadget but tank is too small to fit any of the air driven skimmer.

i think theres a new OF Nano skimmer which looks like an elongated version of the dymax IQ skimmer. think its built to fit the OF 34L.. C328 got sell. its air driven (use sanders 2) though not much use ( Based on my experience with using IQ skimmer on my 34L tank) but better than nothing..

Best is to do 5% WC evey 2 days if your bioload high.

Air-driven skimmer high maintenance. The wood head needs changing very frequently.

I agree that water change is the best option here. The footprint is too small for an effective skimmer.

Using BM e3 on my OF Nano Space 34L and it works well. Lots of muck skimmed out even with 15% weekly wc and weekly bacterial/carbon dosing

Thanks bro. Would appreciate it if u can share some pics of your tank with the skimmer. Do u put skimmer in a sump tank or directly in display tank?

Hi bro, I don't have pics to post of the skimmer, but I hang it at the back of the tank in the IOS compartment.
