Durso pipe nosiy

Jus got a durso pipe installed because of the air sucking in my overflow and the noise was driving me crazy.

But after getting it done, the water splashing into the sump, the over going into the overflow and the durso pipe are making more noise.

I reduced the flow for my return pump and the sound is lesser. But i get some kinda whistling sound coming from the top hole of the durso..

I need help.. its driving me crazy.

You can stick a short air hose on that air intake and let it hang somewhere.

If your outlet in the sump sits below the water level by about 2 inch, and at an angle, it should be good.

Add a valve at the outlet. Tune the valve until no bubble. Then u can solve the noise issue.

By the way,i did push in a small hose tube inside. The overflow level drop abit. But seems ok.. have not open my return pump ball valve to full yet

I had a similar problem, I plugged the hole on my durso, turned up the flow of my return pump full and reduced the flow to my sump. The water level in my overflow will be around the 90deg part of the durso.

Yeah was actually thinking of a valve at the outlet.. need to start source for 1.. but tge problem is my outlet valve is already glued and very thick.. very hard to cut

When i turned up the flow of my pump, the water crashing down into the overflow damn loud.. makes me wan to get rid of the dorso. But when i take the dorso out, there is more air and water going into the overflow pipe...

I had this same problem when my tank supplier gave me the "standard" size durso pipe. But realised that no matter how I tuned it, the noise was still there. So I made a bigger durso myself and that solved the problem. What sized durso do you have now and what size outlet pipe are you using ?

durso is 50mm and return is 25....

I think the top cap must have a smallest hole that is enough fr the flow rate.

Where is noise coming from?

Hole in pipe at the top cap or the end of the pipe at the sump?

Do you have a cap on the top? With the smallest hole possible?

At the sump tank, do you have a cover on the pipe to the sump tank? You can sound proof you cabinet door and wall too ....

Hole is about 0.5cm.. don have a cover for the sump.. how to sound proof?

Hi u can put a T joint on the sump outlet to redue the splashing water sound ,with that it will redue the air intake noise coming form the durso hole

Current there is a 45 degree angle joint in the middle of the pipe. A t-joint.... sounds interesting
