SRC Member peacemaker Posted May 23, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted May 23, 2013 Hi fellow reefers! What do you look for when you buy LED lights for your reef? Here are a list of items to consider, and how would you rank them in terms of importance? - Pricing - Ease of use - Coral health / growth - Overall outlook of the reef (colours pleasing to your eye?) - Design (looks like a freakin' cool toy) - Power consumption - Customizability (modular system, interchangable parts, etc) - Upgradability - Wireless control - Syncronization with 3rd party equipment (ie. app control through smart phones, controllers, etc) - Touch panel control - Dimming / in-built timers - Special features (ie. lightning, cloudy day simulations) - Accessories - Build quality - After-sales support - Hybrid options (coupled with T5s) -

SRC Member peacemaker Posted May 23, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 23, 2013 For me, - Pricing = I can't find any good budget LED Lol... I think there are plenty, just that they compromise on quality, so not very useful. Thanks for your input!

SRC Member peacemaker Posted June 3, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 3, 2013 Looks like the common consensus is coral health, growth and being visually pleasing to the eye is top priority? Anyone has different expectations, or something else not from this list?
