Nice Zoas garden you have!

As Dr Ang mentioned, I do noticed you packed your zoas quite closed together. This will be nice for viewing in a short term.

But at the growth rate u mentioned, there will be not enough space to expand and you have to start shifting them.

From my own experience, some zoas do not like to shift around when they settled in after too long in a position and may just melt off when being shift to a location they are not "comfortable".

With cooler water and strong light which Anthony mentioned. You will gonna be selling/giving frags soon due to limited estate space.

Just my $0.02 :peace:

Tom

ATTN: Nano reefers.

The ice probe works wonders! Despite the relentless heat of this afternoon's weather, I came home to 26 degree water. How great is that? I'm really glad I didn't spring for a chiller. Anyway it's not like I have a lot of space for one.

Livestock update!

My super suns. Rewarding me with a bloom after a mysis feast. But pardon the freaky lighting.

Black hole sun zoas. Their colours in real life are just wasted on the iPhone camera though.

I also got a pair of black foot clowns. Ok. The total clownfish headcount now is 4. But that was really uncalled for. Here's a funny story.

As I was installing the ice probe days ago (before I bought the black foots), I noticed my tiny clownfish going absolutely nuts. Probably nervous with all the commotion happening in his little home. It was darting along the height of my tank and before I knew it, he completely disappeared.

I searched for him, high and low. Literally in my own version of Finding Nemo. Thinking he jumped ship, I looked on the floor, under the table and in my cluttered bin for an orange slimy body but I never found one.

I didn't bother to scan between the rocks in the tank because I thought it'd be really uncharacteristic for clownfish to hide in rocks for long periods of time. So I quit. I went to bed, sad, at the thought that I was a terrible reefer.

The weekend came and I saw that Iwarna still had small black foots (feet?) left. So I bought a pair, thinking I'd give my remaining clownfish to someone else.

I went home, introduced the black feet to my tank and went on with my life. Days went by. I procrastinated the removal of my original clownfish because I got sentimental.

Then.

Yesterday was oyster feast/mysis shrimp day. As I was administering the buffet, Tiny Clownfish decides to appear like an elusive unicorn and starts vacuuming the feast as if NOTHING HAPPENED. WHAT!

So now... I have 4 clownfish. But you know what. I'm just glad he's alive. I wonder how he liked Sydney. I also noticed that his one fin is a little damaged. I'm not kidding. He's the real Nemo.

Alright enough of this. Just wanted to share this little bit of nonsense with you guys. I'm still baffled by this silliness.

Goodnight reefers, it's almost midweek!

Hello reefers!

Saturday is always hardcore reefing day, I always think. So what did you all do today? :)

An update is in order, it's been too many days.

I've received a few PMs about my ice probe and how it looks like. Here it is:

post-22774-13707055774645_thumb.jpg

See that metal probe at the bottom? CRAZY COLD. I touched it. I know it's supposed to be cold but it still shocked me. I just rest it at the back of my tank in one of the IOS compartments in this position. Pretty effective. You don't have to drill a hole in your tank to insert it like they instruct you to.

In other news, I got baby clams! Nano tank friendly clams, rather. So beautiful. Never seen colours like these before too.

Amidst the zoa meadow, an iridescent clam.

This one's skirting is laced with gold in natural light. Madness! Will get a better picture in the morning. For now, just close your eyes and imagine...

Made a trip down to LCK today and saw this little guy. What a gem indeed. Will leave you all with his portrait. Goodnight!

It's time for Monday again, reefers. Sian.

But it also means that there'll be another weekend of shipments and an assortment of reefing activities to look forward to too! We'll get through it together...

Anyway. Like I said before, I'm treating this thread as a log to document my progress. So if any shots/angles look similar, just homour me a little k? Haha.

But I do have a new addition. And I'll be watching it like a newborn baby. Got it a couple of days back but couldn't get a good enough picture.

UFO chalice!

The colours are unreal.

And speaking of unusual colours, here's that gold-ish clam I was talking about. Turns out he has a touch of maroon too.

post-22774-13707961587504_thumb.jpg

Bumped him up from the sand bed to the top tier in case he didn't get enough light.

And finally, today's FTS.

Goodnight everyone!

Here's a picture of my cat dressed like a lion.

Lovely. The cat. No, the lion king.
All the chalice may be blenched if got too much light. Keep watching it.
I put mine all in shade.

Soon or later u will get upgraded to a bigger tank I guess, just like a bigger drawer, or wardrobe. ........
Her boyfriends, be prepared.
Ok. Anyway maintain your ice probe regularly. the heatsink tends to oxidize after a while and the probe does crack.

At least that was what happened to mine last time otherwise perfect toy for nano.

Used it with a 150w mh. no problem (:

Happy Reefing,

Marc J.

Very beautiful tank from a pretty maid.

Lots of imagination and ideas translated solidly into a real colorful reef world.

With an equally artistic bf, and an insane thirst for beauty , this reef tank has yet to reach its best.

A small branch of shocking pink bonsai bird nest would certainly add to the colour of your tank.

You know where you can get it from...

Cheers,

What a wonderfully written post from the most gracious reefer I know. Your reply is very encouraging, thank you very much, Uncle Mike. A burst of colour sounds like a plan. I'm sure arrangements can be made in the near future. :) :) :) You tank is my inspiration.
