White foam from skimmer

Hi...I only get white foam out from my skimmers, later turning brown in the cup. Does this mean the proteins are not being removed from the water? I have a 3 ft tank and have 2 air driven skimmers inside, one is aqua medic, and the other a cheap one. Thanks a lot....

i have exactly the same problem....no thick kopi-O, only diluted tea....anyway to troubleshoot??

as usual.. get a venturi skimmer rather than a air-driven one..

sadly, i am using a cheapo jebo skimmer....getting my new weipro 2011 soon.....hope it will produce kopi-O....

Even for venturi, the settings plays a part. set the water level too high and what you get is wet foam. result light brown. too low and the skimage refuse to come up. just nice would be thick dark brown kopi. The setting varies depending on pump used.
