I have tried putting Bio-sphere at different locations: 1) In a FR = turns red colour 2) Below filter sock = turn dark brown/black colour 3) Inside Deltec SC2060 skimmer = maintained mainly white colour I think putting in the skimmer has the best effect, it works like the bomb method, having the micro bubbles of the skimmer to react with the Bio-sphere media. But i kana flood 2 time as my skimmer is external one and some small parts went in to vale n outlet pipe. now i have fully removed them due to.the risk and performance Which Can Only bring down no3 to a certain level then stopped. it s only my experience since it was used for.my tank without sump tank. Thats what exactly Happen to me.a Big chunk sangkut in my skimmer outlet overflowed..put back and again overflowed..my skimmer is A RODCS200INT Very hard to ..take the small chunks out..i think il start running them in my reactor,,Thanks BroKKK121 1 Quote 300Gallons of Pure Goodness! >Dimensions 6x2x2 (Foot) 1: Maxspect 160 Watt qty-2 2: Vortech MP 40 Wes 3:Jaebao WP40 qty-2 3: Skimz Becket Skimmer/ Ehiem 1260 4: Dymax XC 900 Calcium Reactor 5: American Pinpoint PH Controller 6: Iwaki MD 55 And MD 70 (Return) 7: Hydra Aquatics FR45 Reactor 8:Hailea 10HP Chiller R2R forum->>>http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/photography-forum/154896-ashwins-reefing-photography.html

SRC Member woyeng** Posted June 16, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted June 16, 2014 I have been using biosphere for over 8 months. Very effective as NO3 is always kept at zero Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
qianjun
I having high nitrates level and using polylab biosphere for 1 month plus but Nitrate never fall. Maybe it is gd for maintenance. I trying out azno3 now to test the effect. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Harryfocker
I tried the Bio-sphere. It works. After two weeks, the Nitrate fell drastically. By the 4th week, Nitrate is zero. Without water changes! There is a slight cloudiness at the start and if you stir your filter media (with the bio-sphere), there will be cloudiness but then again, all tanks have the same effect. So it works for me. Amazing!
SRC Member Bunster Posted July 17, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted July 17, 2014 Just a question for you fellow biosphere users, when do you need to change it? I've been using it for the last 3 months. I place it in the filter bag that it comes with in the back compartment of my 96l AIO tank. Nitrate level consistently ard 2 and my phosphates are 0-0.03. The amount of biosphere seems to have reduced by half.... Do I wait for it to be completely gone? Or do I top up with a few pieces?
SRC Member illumnae Posted July 24, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted July 24, 2014 Will the biospheres work inside a hang on back skimmer like the bubble magus q3? I currently have it in a hob filter, but want to free up some real estate at the back to put a pump for chiller.
Harryfocker
I have been using Bio-sphere. It works. Will want to try putting into the skimmer. As I use a Tunze skimmer, will have to figure out where to place the bio-sphere.
AdrianOh
Usually Bio-Sphere can last how long for a 1000ml bottle ?
SRC Member DottyClown Posted August 27, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted August 27, 2014 Can someone help with a noob question. Currently I only have Activated Carbon & Ceramic Rings in my 80l nano tank. If I were to include in Rowaphos and Bio-Sphere. Is this ok or would that be an overkill? I have been doing 15-20% water change every week. With the above addition, would it be ok to reduce wc frequency to 2-3 weeks?

Rows phos is to reduce phosphate while bio sphere remove nitrate. If you can bring these two parameter down, yes it will greatly reduce the frequency of your water change.
