I'm surprised the tank maker did not bother to laminate the boundaries of the chiller door cut-out. Kind of an eyesore to see a different colour other than the cabinet laminate.

peacemaker, that's one of the outstanding works to be completed by this week.

The initial proposal was to cover the hole with acrylic board with holes, but it has not been done yet. to prevent any further delay (i'm tired of waiting), i tell him to forgo about the acrylic board and leave it as it is. But he will laminate the timber part.

Support timber ok without laminate. If it comes with laminates, I will be more worried as I will not know what wood the carpenter use.

Some of the common hardwood used in Singapore. For our supporting frames, avoid Nyatoh and Meranti - http://www.hiapchuan.com/whywood.htm

anyway if you guys notice, the support timbers were not laminated, i'm wondering is it fine? or will mould grow onto it due to direct exposure to moisture ?

IF it's a leak, I would be screaming for the vendor to come NOW to fix it. HOw to sleep thinking that anytime there could be a flood in my living room.

Cheers, ;)

Agree, most important task at hand is to work with your tank maker to complete the project. ;)

As mentioned by TS, only use this guy is you are not in a hurry. My story was worse. my old tank IOS retaining wall burst and flooded my house, simply because my new tank cabinet turned up 'not ready' and I had to delay migration for weeks. I got everything I wanted including a replacement cabinet.... But time is something else. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

it has black color foam siting around the frame.

I see it now, used to the white thick foam type...

Bro, from the pics, I think silicon workmanship kind of rough and done by inexperienced maker......

I am waiting patiently, for you to let us know the tank maker ....

(-_-) Happy will do ... (o_o)

If the tank maker is who we think he is, then there is no surprise on workmanship.

My very first tank made by him was perfect. Subsequent tanks came with slightly shoddy silicon work. It wasn't that bad as it was at the base, and I wanted to have a sand bed, so no issue there.

Must understand, short arms lah... :D
