My mh stopped working

my 150w mh light stopped working yesterday... :o

it is on timer so i don't turn it on and off all the time...

now it comes on and glows but doesn't get brighter...

can anyone tell me whats wrong with it? :cry:

the bulb is the weipro 14k one...

light set and bulb only 3 months old since aquarama...

light only put on timer for a few weeks... less than a month...

please help guys...

but what could have caused this?

wire melt?

connection came lose?

the lights are hanging over my tank now so there is nothing much i can do...

unless i take it down and tear it apart...

:cry:

of course you need to take it apart to troubleshoot it, let me know if you need help. ;)

Ryan,

Its not that bad, but a man's gotta do what man's gotta do.

Barracuda is whom you would refer to as an Electrical Guru (as opposed to likes of me who is an Electrical Goondu :P ).

I'll take up his offer if I were you. It should help prevent some rude shocks. There's no screwing with a posssible 150w jolt.

i'm taking my light down later...

what do i check for?

like ballast wiring?

what do i look out for?

honestly i have never seen how the MH system works.

no idea how its supposed to be wired...

its down again...

it started working on 7th feb i think...

then i just came home and its not working again...

anyone experienced this problem before?

think there is something in the bulb that is loose...

some metal in bits moving around when i shake it...

if i'm not wrong there is also some liquid inside... :o
