Kawai
Anyone tried running a mini reactor on IQ5 ???? Intend to try out rowaphos but read that it's more effective in a reactor or has anyone tried just putting rowaphos in a filter bag straight into the IOS ?? was worried that the particles might flow into the tank. SRC Member diki88 Posted April 29, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted April 29, 2013 Hi bro for your tank size better to do regular water changes than adding a reactor of any sort. You can add rowaphos without the reactor as well, just make sure u use a fine filter bag or use the one they gave u. MarcoVan
You can try Innovative Marine's reactor but it's currently out of stock and cost about $99usd before shipment. Quote Happy Reefing, Marc J.
Kawai
Thanks a lot for the advises, think I will try putting into a filter bag first, to see if it improves. Hopefully the rowaphos doesn't mess up the whole day. <br /><br /><br />Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk 2<br /><br />
SRC Member Evolutionz Posted April 30, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted April 30, 2013 i used to run a bag of rowaphos in a 1000l/hr Hang on filter for my 34L tank.. must ensure good flow and need to turn the back once in a while. Hi Evolutionz, Thanks alot for the reply, do you face any issue with the rowaphos dust flying all over ? do you rinse them before you use it ? Kawai
Thanks alot evolutionz, talking about DI water. I got some distilled water from NTUC, heard alot using life brand but I saw a "PURE" ntuc drinking water which shown 0 sodium as opposed to life brand which contain some tiny amount of sodium. Issit ok to use the "PURE" brand ? or issit better to use "LIFE" brand instead ? The "PURE" brand doesn't mention if it's distilled water, just that the all the ingredient list shows 0%. SRC Member Evolutionz Posted May 10, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted May 10, 2013 im not exactly sure about that because i bought a 3 stage DI unit before i set up my first marine tank. IMO, get a DI or RO/DI unit better. save your hassle to buy those distilled water and if you happen to upgrade (which i strongly believe so!) the DI would be of great use. Kawai
RO/DI might be hassle free but currently have to stick to distilled water since my tank is really small and i think distilled water might be more econ for now. Will consider getting a RO/DI unit if I have any plans of upgrading in the future
Kawai
Just a some Rowaphos and media bag from C328. how much should i put for my IQ5 ? I'm thinking just 2 teaspoon since I only have effectively around 10 litres of water after all the live rock etc.
