SRC Member Evolutionz Posted October 19, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted October 19, 2013 its been about 1-2 weeks since i started on reef vitality, My tank specs can be see on my sig. Basically the only things i dose are : Grotech ABC (not dosing M) Polyplab Polyp-Booster (amino acids & food) Zeovit Coral Vitalizer (food for corals, used to dose daily, now only dose once a week) BrightWell Bacter 7 (7ml once a week) Vinegar (used to dose 30ml daily, now down to 5ml.) So i started reef vitality at 1/2 the recommended dosage (1 capsule for 500l every 4 days). my tank total water system should be ~265L (minusing rocks and sand). i dose 1/4 - 1/5 capsule every Saturday Morning and Tuesday Night. If according to original dosage, i will need 1/5 capsule. I noticed alot of reefers who overdosed (even by just a little) can result in sps paling and lose in color. Right now although its been only 1 - 2weeks, i can see a little change in color and a increase in growth. Not sure if its the vitality that is working, but its definitely improving my water quality (No3 stays at 2 - 5ppm despite needing to dose 30ml of vinegar previously to maintain the same level). I also reduced my Grotech ABC from 10ml twice a week to 5ml twice a week. i try to avoid dosing the same time/day tgt with the vitality. I've also found out that the powder need not be totally dissolved and mixed. Fauna marin's owner himself said that just mix it in 100ml of water and stir for 30sec and pour it inside the tank, which is exactly what i did. Conclusion : Im confident this product will help in bringing out more colors but currently 1-2 weeks its too short to tell. I'll update again in probably 1 - 2 months time. Basically for people who are planning to use, Do not overdose! not even at the slightest! instead start 1/4 - 1/2 of the recommanded dosage instead and slowly increase (monitor ur tank at the same time) week by week. Any bros have this issue.. My water para are quite stable! Most likely u overdose. 1 capsule is for 500l. What is your tank capacity? If u dosing other additives such as trace elements, amino acids etc then u need to reduce your dosage further. Its a very potent product. SRC Member Evolutionz Posted January 29, 2014 SRC Member Share Posted January 29, 2014 Hey fellas! sorry for the long overdued update. Its been more than 3 months since i started using reef vitality. my overall experience is that it indeed does helps wih growth! as for keeping nutrients down. not so much. Probably because i have been underdosing all the time.. i was supposed to dose 1/2 cap every 4 days. i dose about 1/3 or slightly more each time. i do occasionally gets white patches (STN/RTN) on my sps, not sure if its associated to this. i would continue using this as i noticed some of my small tiny frags which has been stunned started growing after i dose reef vitality. FuEl
Reef Vitality increases water clarity, thus increased light penetration. Isolated bleaching is usually due to LED burn, such symptoms are almost never seen in aquariums running other forms of lighting as the light is more dispersed. SRC Member illumnae Posted September 28, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted September 28, 2015 I mix mine with Coral Balance to dose together (both at 50% dose each) and it's a pain to dissolve. As per bro Evolutionz's sharing above - FM owner says it's not necessary for it to dissolve fully to be effective. What I do is that I mix it in tank water and stir for about a minute. Coral Balance tends to clump into little "balls" so I will crush them against the side of the container while mixing. After a minute, most of it is suspended as a cloudy liquid and I just pour that into the return compartment of my sump. The water flowing into the return compartment eventually breaks all the leftover "balls" apart and the entire suspension is delivered into the tank via return pump. Anything not dissolved tends to float, so the return pump will not be able to suck it in to send it to the tank. I dose before I sleep at night and by morning, my return compartment is clear. Sponsor Aquafauna Supplies Posted November 7, 2015 Sponsor Share Posted November 7, 2015 Hi, i find it difficult to dissolve RV in tank water. Would appreciate some advice on good method of dissolving it. thanks Use a clear plastic bag, fill some tank water before adding reef vitality. Close the top and shake vigorously for few seconds. Same can be done for coral balance.
