Great looking fowlr. Any precaution against the deadly ich ?

I had ich outbreak when i bought an AT and i lost the AT, PBT and Moorish Idol... tried Polylab Medic but did not work...

now i have UV on for 24/7 and feed food soaked with Continuum Garlic.. so far so good :)

Thanks Lemon.. the backdrop idea was inspired by the following Hong Kong reefer's tank

DSCN3960.jpg

it's perfect for oceanic column swimming fish like pyramid butterflies.

the HK tank is also beautiful, with a darker bottom to simulate deeper water. and what a lovely cabinet color. a bold statement away from the usual whites and blacks! love it.

Thanks guys!

I think the basis of nice scaping is to have nice shape rocks to begin with..

was lucky to pick up some nice live rocks at reasonable price from T95 when i was sourcing for rocks :D

Update wise maybe not much more as my fish wish list is almost complete, probably left:

1) Queen angel

2) Golden Butterfly

3) Flame angels

I have no luck with Flame angels in my tank, maybe have to give up on Flame Angels after 1 more attempt :(

Where you brought the back ground picture from? Is it sticker?

I paid loyalty fee of about S$32 to download high resolution picture (minimum 300dpi) from:

http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-photography-ocean-sunbeams-image304947

Then edit the picture to blow up to the dimension required for the backdrop (slightly larger than 4ft x 2.5ft).

Then print reverse print stickers (sticky side on picture side) at Botak Sign at Highland Centre for about S$24:

It works just like oyama stickers.. cheers! :)

Hi SunkistC

Nice set up.

What is the temp of ur water???

Did u install a chiller???

Thanks..

Water temperature span from 29 to 31 degree C..

Never install chiller else would have started a reef tank instead :P

Not a bad idea. Saves power and $$. It's a brushless motor with the centre piece as the magnet. If you can find 4 permanent magnets to replace the 4 electromagnets, it should be able turn the fan. Thanks for sharing.

Im also on a FOWLR setup. But my fish cannot survive long, the most is few mths.

My water temp is always 30 to 31 degree for 422 tank size.

That's why Im consider to invest a chiller

Your tank not small. Waste if no chiller. Can play corals also.

Nice DIY backdrop. Clever.
