nice diagram. Can use autocad, print output to a PDF file using acrobat distiller or some screen capturing software.

Some questions:

1. Should the skimmer be in sump or can hang on ?

2. Connection from pump outlet to skimmer. Do you use hose?

3. Do you remove the original venturi valve? Can it be reuse anyway?

4. How do you overcome air leaking out from the PH body?

5. Is there any difference in performance when you use needle wheel impeller or normal impeller?

6. Noticing that Weipro seems to have a lot of turbulence. Anyway to overcome that ?

1. Should the skimmer be in sump or can hang on ?

Can be done both way. for hang on, you need to use a siphon tube.

2. Connection from pump outlet to skimmer. Do you use hose?

Yes I use hose

3. Do you remove the original venturi valve? Can it be reuse anyway?

Must remove. If not very low water flow. And you do not need the venturi to creat bubbles liaoz.

4. How do you overcome air leaking out from the PH body?

If using powerhead, get teflon tape from hardware store. Those you use to seal taps.

5. Is there any difference in performance when you use needle wheel impeller or normal impeller?

Big difference. Normal impeller, the bubbles much bigger. Thus less surface area where as the one with needle wheel is much smaller.

6. Noticing that Weipro seems to have a lot of turbulence. Anyway to overcome that ?

Too much turbulence after mod or before?? if after, cause by too high flow rate and not enough bubbles. Try to get more air in your pump.

6. I mean before, not as advance as you are. :P

Air bubbles are accumulating at the bottom of the skimmer. Forming bigger bubbles. These bubble escape from the return tube. These seem to cause water level to fluctuate, disturbing the hard formed foam in the rising tube. I can think of is my pump's too strong. Bubbles are not meant to reach the buttom. Without those turbulence, believe the performance would be better. What is your experience?

Hmmm you mean twist off the pump cover? I still thought have to use a knife or something to pop the cover off. Lucky you tell me if not cover spoil and have to use pump to make bubbles in cuppucino instead.

Do you think its worth modifying the impeller? Since mine is a brand new pump (havnt touch water yet), Im a bit hesitant to do it unless the result is worth the trouble.

Sorry for the questions as Im trying to get some comments here. BTW thanks for your help Tanggy. :thanks:
