Carbon and Ozone

Want to ask if I'm using ozone on my skimmer do I still need to run a FR with carbon? Any difference between carbon and ozone?

Bro, it is advisable to include carbon when running ozone as carbon will adsorb remnants ozone in your system. Also placing carbon on top of your skimmer collection cup will also remove the smell from ozone reacting with the skimmate.

Carbon can be used without ozone to remove the "yellow" in water. But if you intend to use Ozone, then best to add carbon.

Being quite unstable, ozone is toxic at low concentrations. Did read that once you are able to smell ozone, it is about to reach dangerous levels.

Anyway if I'm using ozone I will be using a orp controller too. So should I say likely no problem?

i read that carbon usage over prolong period will leech trace elements and cause the hlle? or hole in the head disease.

not sure the culprit is carbon, but my yellowshoulder had some holes in the head after 3months of carbon usage, which i used to remove the yellow tint in water. now i removed the carbon already.
