Help ID-ing this hitch hiker

This hitch hiker suddenly appeared in my tank and I have no clue what it is. Can anyone help ID?

View from the outside. Looks like some kind of snail/slug? But the "shell" looks soft...

Maybe one of the variation of sea hares. I too have something similar to this. All it does is graze algae off my glass. So I just leave it alone

Cowries will extend their mantle to cover their shell completely. Catch it to verify. If its a cowrie, it will retracted the mantle and look more familiar.

Thanks iskay! Yup I went to prod it with tweezers and it retracted the covering, showing the "proper" cowrie shell
