Whats these polls need is a general like what kind of skimmer we prefer, instead of the specific brands.. maybe a poll of Becketts, Needlewheel, Venturi, Airstone, etc...

just wondering. say if im using a lower end skimmer, such as weipro or macro, if i use an extra powerful pump, will that help in the skimming?

Yes it does.. to a certain extend... Usually for Weipro, get those stronger Eheim pump.. heard can also produce kopi-o.

pardon my blurness, but the kind of pumps used as a return pump is different from the skimmer pump right? cuz i noticed that the skimmer pump got a air tube which i can control the amt of air flow, whereas my return pump dun have. so how to find the correct pump?

Which SKimmer are you talking about? I thought usually the control is at the skimmer itself?

If you are talking about needlewheel then its a different story. Can't use the normal pumps for replacement. Still there is no control for it.

but after reading this thread, make me very curious. what are all these different kind or types of skimmers? what are the real difference? technology? price?

may i know a place or website that have all these skimmer compared?
