Bro...that's a Cynarina lacrymallis...A button coral You have a very nice setup....

not sure how the leathers are affecting your sps though...they do release toxic...but hey...if you love moving and waving corals than motionless sticks....what the heck

The gorgonia extends its polyps out much after after I started adding zooplankton/phytoplankton but saw some algae bloom...gotta cut down

I also noticed you have SPS and leather and finger coral, they are not compatible esp the Lobophytum species (finger coral), it can kill your SPS without touching them. further leather coral shes it coat from time to time, it is toxic and can kill corals it landed on.

heh..thanks for your help DB bro! yah, no choice, since i like leathers and zoanthids...gotta use carbon frequently....had leathers with me since a long time, so cant really tell how the sps are affect....but so far all showing good growth and some colour...

Here's another lob. looks like a goner. Not sure why, but tissue started receding the folowing day after buying. might not have checked properly before buying. sobz

The growth tip of the stag showing very good coloration. The rest of the body still seems greyish brown but they seem to be colouring up more after shifting it higher

regarding the lobo...it happens...sometimes the slightest light change..will cost the meaty part to die off..............................

imagine I lost this when I changed lights from 150W to 250W ($60)

btw: as long as you are happy with your setup, leather or no leather ....if you can managed it.... dun be too bothered by it

By the books....we are advised to avoid this and that...but real life exp and success counts

bought the yellow polyps months back and disintegrated until left with 5-6 polyps. Growing back finally..but next headache would be them spreading too fast to my acros....

yah, i kindda suspected it was due to sudden light change too. $40 gone.. Anyway, yah, I've heard a fair bit of leathers and their incompatibilities with sps. but on the other side, i've seen so many successes of mixed reef! And i'll always prefer a mixed reef.....just like u right? haha..so oh well....

Yup....we are still in love with mixed reef...so you'll always see the tein toadstool leather coral in my tank, the mushroom corals...the zoos....hey, theory is one thing....but you had so much success all this while...reef on ...bro
