Pls advise... Strange sympton on my sps

Noticed all the sps seem to be swollen since light on today. There seems to be a transparent 'skin' / jell covering the body and branches of all the sps which I can't figure out.

Is this normal?

Anybody encounter this before?

This is a clearer picture. Note that there is a outer jelly like skin.

Is it some type of bacteria bloom? Other then sps any other area of tank affected like live rocks?

No.. Only sps. Very obvious in digis, Millie and acros. Live rock is ok.. Lps seems fine too.

Totally agree with uncle Mike. These things killed my 3 monti in 2 days.

Added any new things, bacterial or carbon source?

If you are on biopellets I think better temporary stop cos you might be feeding the slime n encourage the spread.

Unlikely to be bacterial infection.

Looks like Sps tissue balooning / gassy / blistering. It seems like a broad base photo inhibition that's cause by a sudden increase of carbon source dosing. If you have been dosing carbon source or other additives, suggest you stop for a while till the situation improves. For more detail...try to a search on this area and you will get some very useful insights.

Cannot siphon lah. It's growing on the branches and seems like its own tissue. Similar to our skin have a water blister (水泡） I used a coral feeder to blow water at the affected branches and saw the bubble at the tip 'burst' And the jelly form on the rest of the body 'shrink' Let's wait and see if it comes back. I just stopped using bio pellets this morning. The only thing I added yesterday is fauna supplies pods. Water change was a week ago.. Maybe I will change water again. Last dose 'it's clear' about 4-5 days ago. Reef vital dosed about a week ago

The bloated tissue lasted for about 3 days and went off by itself. Lost a couple of Walt smith colonies via stn. Those that survived turned brown in including the royal blue Millie. Never managed to find out the reason why... Now monitoring closely and hope to get the colour back.

Cannot conclude that it's biopellet cos I've been using biopellet for almost a year now when this happened. And apart from biopellet, I've also stopped all additives and go back to basics monitoring the water parameters closely. Still suffering the consequences of this incident.. I'm seeing tissue peeling from one or two heads of my royal blue Millie and snipping it off in an attempt to save the rest.

That's exactly what happened. Tissue detaching from skeleton at an alarming rate. Mostly from millies.

my experience was on the acropras. At first thought they growing... Until I saw once the "bubble" burst, the flesh just floats away, leaving bare skeleton. By the way, my experience is the whole frag had its flesh ballooned up. So no way to frag smaller pieces.

Read before that it might be case of Mg issue ie. low Mg.
