Water evaporation rate will be high. Monitor your water parameter. Coz you might over top up the freshwater and effect the salinity. .

U added black sand on top of white sand? Why never remove the white sand?

Algae is usually an indication of nutrient level build up. Could be nitrate level been high due to waste. Are you using tap water or DI water for top-up and water change? Tap water itself contains phosphorus and silica which also encourage brown diatoms to proliferate.

Few things to do could be change more water, reduce lighting period, check your skimmer rating, set-up an algae srcubber...etc.

Reducing phosphate in your tank would help. Phosphate is the main source of food for nuisance algae growth. U can do that by adding phosphate absorbing media such as rowaphos. Adding a few clean up crew, e.g. snails, seahare, urchin , would help in eating the excess algae.
