Clam fallen off rock leaving some discharge

Need help. My clam had fallen off the rock and leaving behind a lump of fresh. Is it normal? Should I remove the lump discharge? Is the clam dying?

So far, still responding to light.

I've moved it to another location.

Yes it can. Just pray no infection. Normally should be alright.

My clams also very troublesome...keeps falling until I fed up and place them on sandbed. And still they keep leaning to their sides... sianz.

The clam had remained motionless and very slow reaction despite light changes.

Guess it's dying.

Had just removed it from tank.

Very small reaction coz it recover. Clam are quite hardy. It's common for them to lose a huge amount of byssal and still survive. It will just regrow the byssal. When clams are collected from the wild for sale. They also just pull it off rocks. The byssal will be damaged surely.

Saw that the mantle was loose. Also, there's worm attacking within the mantle. However, the siphon was moving but not sure if it's the water current.

Heard that if they died within tank, will release toxic, so quickly remove it.
