New 2ft tank in office

darn now den i saw ur post... i already replaced the table with a spare 1 liao...this time added plastic sheet on it to prevent water from seeping onto it. if it happens again i will buy a stand.

i really hope it wouldnt. kinda of troublesome...had to remove 3/4 of water, LR faster trf to pail. lift tank up to table, lift out current table (which in order to do so i had to move a lot of office furniture, than reverse the steps...took me half a day

unless you are sure of the table quality and material (chengai is oftenly used for good cabinets) if not better use stand..

Been busy funishing my tank lately and here are some pics beginning first with zoas:

picture 4: sea squirt (the one thing that i have least info on. any information would be appreciated - been dosing phyto feast and phycopure as well as brightwell zooplanktons-M in tank as i read that they are heavy phytoplankton eaters).

Hey bro, nice corals and fishes u have there! cool idea on using the dustbin as a sump! I saw a video in youtube somewhere before about a guy using a Big pail as a sump. cool stuff.

Anyways, was just wondering, why not just use another tank or even those toyogo containers instead since you're open to exploring on something different. That way you can see through the sump easily to monitor your equipments in the sump if you know what i mean? and you can convert it into a nice refugium if you ever decide to one day. Also It will be less bulkier and can fit under the table nicely. I'm using a a bare tank myself as a sump.

And for your water under the main tank issue......... how is the situation now? could it be that your main tank has a leakage? if you're sure no leakage, u can try putting styrofoam under the tank. It will even out the weight of the tank. I'm also using a wooden table for my setup. Used to hold my RSM 130D without problem and now my new tank. Thinking of buying those big thick plastic sheets from Popular Bookshop and make them as covers/door panels to hide my sump.

and lastly, i would suggest not to buy and livestock that you're not familiar with first. Best to do some research online bout the species. will save u loads of trouble later.

i wanted to use another tank but in the end decided on the rubbish bin because i wanted to increase my water volume as i had 2 tank crashed when i added too much additives. figured higher water volume would make the tank a little more stable and less reactive to small overdose and allow me to fill my tank with more stuff

definately not tank leakage. realized that the pipe from over flow to sump had a hole. replaced it and everything is ok now.

should have added the styrofoam...zz got 2 in my office actually dunno why dint think of it. probaly will do it the next time i have to half empty my tank (hopefully not). my table is now covered by 1 big sheet of those book wrappers you can get at stationary store

yup trying to curb my buying habit. nowadays just buy from ML (usually ask him for name and start googling) or fellow reefer (my zoas and sps are only from fellow reefer cedric). LPS are the only things i get from other places and thanks . trying my best on this tank. if it works ok would probably upgrade to larger shallow tank in few months time hehe.

My new mandarin (previous one refused to eat. This fella has been doing good - ard 2 weeks in tank - always see him going around pecking. hopefully my copepods can last him...trying to replanish but last 3 trip to ah beng also no copepods. adding reef nutrition tiggerpods as well as tiggerfeast to sustain him. so far he looks fatter ).
