True Optic Fibre Not Growing

I got a small true optic fibre frag. It has been in my tank for about two months. It still looks the same size since day one. I bought another small little optic fibre frag and it is slowly RTN.

The other SPS are growing fine. Is there any particular trace element that I miss out dosing?

Currently I am dosing

TLF A+B, strontium, trace elements, iron.

Fauna marin colour elements, amino.

Brightwell bac7.

What ur parameters like?

True fibre should be a more forgiving type of sps. Check your water parameter. Get your parameters right before dosing anything, dosing might cause more harm then good if baseline paremeters are not in check.

agree, mine grew pretty fast, but those potion without light is dying slowly

Have to provide para for better suggestions cos from the look of your sps parameters seems Abit off... No expert though... Just my 2 cents

Uploading a larger photo. I circled the 3 frags that are growing very slowly. Even millepora is doing fine and I can see tangible growth.

how are the colours holding up? i see many other frags, how are the excrusting?

Other SPS are encrusting fine. Colour is also ok. Only the few I cycled in blue has issue in growing. The polyp extension is also fine for them. In my past experience, if they are not growing after a few months, they will RTN one day.

How is the flow? Is the flow getting to them? Need flow to bring calcium to them.

I cannot see the polyps moving, but my tank is 2 ft cube wit 3 wavemakers. Left: 6015, right 6025, there is another one at the bottom back, 6045.

I believe flow should be right, because the sps around it are showing growth.

A close-up pic of the coral would be helpful to determine some of the possible causes.

If u are referring to the pocillopora species of optic fibre then something is wrong in the tank

as most pocillopora are hardy & grow like weeds.

Ca: 384

Mg: 1200

I think they are at the lower end. I learnt that Mg is low, no matter how much Ca is dosed, it will not be able to boost up the Ca level.

Is this true?

The MH light is on, there is more light now to capture some of the SPS in my tank. I hope this could tell what it is wrong with my tank.

Proper Mg helps to maintain Ca n Kh levels... Try to bring up ur mg n then test ur ca n kh again

Just wondering are those tissue lost? Bottom centre 1st pic & bottom left 6th pic... Do the colours look better in person? Cos here look abit "dark" n dull... Could be camera issue

1st pic is because I accidentally hit it and dropped onto the rock. I guess it is fine.

6th pic is really tissue lost since day one, but the colony is growing and colour is quite blue.

In person, I think colour looks more comfortable to the eyes in T5 light. MH is 14k, so everything is a bit white and over exposed.

The optic fibre is not that bad after 2 months with a fair pe . Getting the 3 essential elements ie Ca, Kh & Mg in line will certainly help.

Since you are dosing FM color elements suggest you pick those with some potassium & iodide to boost up the pink & purple coloration

of this particular coral.

Yep. I have been dosing a bit of blue and red elements weekly.

After I change water and dose Mg. I just checked. My Ca is up - 426 now. I will check again tmr to see how much it drops or increases.

I measured. Mg increased from 1200 to 1240. Later then I will measure Ca. What is the ideal Mg level?

I meant is shocking that ur Ca raise from 387 to 426 in such a short time bro... I think ideal is 1350 plus abit cant remember off hand... Stable parameters... Important
