but do you think its sufficient for your old 24G?

as i was thinking of doing overskim to have "cleaner" water.

hang on? internal? or sump?

Should be fine with any options as long as its a good skimmer that can perform.

Thanks!

Skimz sm161. I'm using one. Slight above ur budget. But over skim is good

Yeah bro skimz is a really good brand for skimmer.

But based on the specification i gotten online, this skimmer have a capability for 133-320 gallon.

I'm thinking is it really way too much overkill for my tank which i suppose is only 60 gallon at most.

Nevertheless many thanks for your kind advise.

Actually i notice that u cant really overskim a tank. I tried using 2 skimmers, each rated more than twice my tank size. Both worked hard to skim out crap from my tank. After that the skimmers provided very very little skim mate. If skimmer work faster than the amount of doc produced, it will not be able to produce foam head, hence skimming stop. Some skimmers are over rated.

Thanks a lot for the info bro.

Am thinking of over skim because I thought the "cleaner" the water, the better for sps.

Using too over-rated skimmer not only overkill, it uses up more electricity & eventually pay more to utilities bill. Skimming will come to a point like what Bro [V]tEc mention, no more skimmate to skim. Skimmer has reached it maximum ability. FYI, no skimmer is 100%, if u search on the internet. That is why there are rowaphos, biopellets being developed to assist further to bring down to near 0 or 0 for NO3. Using overrated means juz add maybe 100 to 200L more to your whole tank & sump volume & consider how much a skimmer can handle based on 'heavy stocking'. Example, my tank and sump volume 400L. I will add 200L, then i will look for a skimmer that can handle up to 600L, based on 'heavy stocking' info given by the manufacturer. Beware of those that give only 'can handle up to 1000L'. No info on heavy stocking. Then i look for reviews on the internet then decided whether to buy or not. I learnt this thro' the hard way after changing skimmer every 8 to 12mths, spending uncessary $.

Very good info bro appreciate it.

Btw i'm also running rowa and bio pellet on my sump.

Guess i will keep to a skimmer not that "oversize" in terms of capacity.

You just gave me another question to ponder about  .
